Russkii Arkhiv. 2023. 11(2): 76-81.
Abstract:
Minutes of meetings of primary party organizations are a valuable source on the economic life of enterprises. They raised many burning questions, often unpleasant ones. In addition, the protocols provide many everyday details, which is important within the framework of the history of everyday life. The publication deals with the minutes of meetings of the party organization of the Sarapul raid of the “Kamlesosplav” trust from the point of view of their value as a source on the history of water transport. It is concluded that they are of rather limited information content. Although they contain quite interesting details of the vessels’ biographies (facts of violation of labor discipline, safety regulations, unscrupulous repairs, etc.), in general, the protocols do not create a complete picture of the work of the entire fleet. The mention of individual boats is the exception rather than the rule. Therefore, protocols can only complement the picture created from other sources, rather than create it themselves.

Abstract:
The problem of transformation of state power in the pre-revolutionary period continues to remain relevant in the light of understanding the causes of the consequences of the revolutionary events of the early 20th century, which affected all classes of the Russian Empire. In this context, the personality of a member of the First State Duma, a deputy from the Don Host Region, priest Klavdii Afanasiev, is of interest. His position clearly outlined a number of issues that continue to remain relevant to this day: on the possibility and necessity of the participation of representatives of the clergy in the political life of the country; on the reaction to this kind of participation of state authorities, the Church and ordinary citizens; on the punishment of clergy for disagreeing with the state policy. Documents from the investigative case of the spiritual court of the Don Spiritual Consistory, which reflect the views of the priest, the opinion of the diocesan authorities and parishioners, are presented in the publication. Verbatim reports of the State Duma demonstrating the political position of K.I. Afanasyeva are also published.
